Did you know that the BSPs used for Half-Life are actually not the final versions of the maps made for Half-Life? The final map sources were used for Half-Life (PlayStation 2) and Half-Life: Source. Very minor changes and bug fixes can be found among the Half-Life: Source maps that typically appear in the PS2 port as well.

Additionally, the Baby Headcrab model seen in Half-Life is out of date and the final version can be found in Half-Life (PlayStation 2) and Half-Life: Source.

Also want to elaborate that there are changes in the PlayStation 2 maps that are done solely by Gearbox and not Valve Software. The Half-Life: Source maps are the closer example of the finalized HL maps than the PS2 port. It is just that the PS2 port was using the finalized sources too, therefore there's changes seen in HLS that also exist in HL PS2.

The only reason the trim exists is because of the beta version of the map was using a different texture in the center. Was an oversight when they were revising the look of the chapter. combineoverwiki.net/images/7/78/…
