Pt2.
During the founding of the site, I gathered a bunch of Steam friends who wanted to help out.
PlanetPhillip (founder of runthinkshootlive.com) suggested 'LambdaLife'., starting the 'Lambda' theme.
@Inaki later suggested 'Lambda Generation' - and I just removed the gap!
I knew it was the perfect name - so I took a screenshot so I didn't forget...
Ok, here you go:
So the site was initially codenamed 'Project Protozoan' (a reference to the Xen bubble creature - can't remember why this name but just seemed cool).
The main goal at the time was to create a place to promote community content and fan creations. At the time most sites were covering maps/mods or just official Valve news (cos you know Valve made things back in them days š“š»).
Here is screenshot of the project page I made for it in July 2010. Basically ground zero of the site :)
Pt3.
Sometime in 2013 I created a new design for the (old) website.
To tease the update, the original website slowly turned rotted and broken over time - in homage to Portal 2 (as it was the big Valve thing at the time).
Here's the site header 'fully rotted'
(and no - we're not doing anything like this for the big update coming to the platform... because we're too busy making it!)
Pt4.
Entropy Zero creator @Breadman was once a writer for our old website and created a fantastic Half-Life Lore series.
To date, these are the most viewed articles on the old site.
You can read them here: lambdageneration.com/tagged/halfā¦
The Lore? Well, after a holocaust, the remaining rebels gathered and united once more to create a place for people like them to take shelter in and be the next generation of Lambdas that would continue the fight against the Combine. Lol, fan story, that's what I imagined

Also please ignore the terrible grammar/spelling in the site wording - I was quite young at the time!
