The following posts will be discussing something you'll hear from nobody else because they don't want us knowing this. You already know who they are. Half-Life, along with Deus Ex are the most important games ever made and more than just "Muh gameplay." They are a warning we have ignored and with great cost. The plot of HL1 serves as a deep look into the world both in and outside ours with forces attempting to control ours. The gman is simply the hand of these forces and does what they want and what other paid them to do to us. Why they want this, I don't know but at this point it doesn't matter. The events at black mesa are that of what happened during 9/11; An event so massive it changed everything, shifting the world forever. We now see this with covid as these inhuman monsters attempt to move society back into a fascist hellscape (See HL2). It is important to view these stories not as something trapped within fiction but as portals into the future and warnings from our past. I will post more some time tonight or tomorrow if I'm feeling well or have enough energy for it.

If you just take a look at anything in this world you can say 'Its going to be worse'. Musics, films, games these are all a piece of artwork. And none of them are as good as the old times. People now make these for just money, not loving what they do. No creativity. Art is the only thing that will make our lives better. Now, how is a game 'artwork'? For example take a look at Soldier in Team Fortress 2. The way he looks, his walking animation, his voice acting, the way he wears his helmet. What a well made character right? Someones own imaginatşon of a real life person. That is art buddy, the only thing that makes world better. The gaming industry is over i can easily say. The same for musics, films etc. We are close to the end, a world with stupid people that just keeps wanting more of everything and trying to be rich, not varing about the others, not respecting anyone. I think you missed the point I and the games are making. It's easy to apply human reasoning to events and "people" but it's a lot harder to accept that it just isn't the case for a lot of things. We've already seen how many people in the Government and Military agencies are completely willing and fine with killing hundreds of people if it meant they get extra funding or cover up something they don't want people knowing. We see this in HL1 with the masse killings of all members of the facility and Deus ex with the attacks on NSF rebels and the hunting down of JC Denton. It goes deeper than that with the erasing of information and the tabooing of words and events, destroying the ability to even speak of them via selective banning by VIs on websites controlled and supported by said Government agencies. This is why independent websites are being filtered out in favor of company owned websites. This has become so common place that nobody notices unless someone big gets their account banned and even then it's forgotten quickly as it happened. I recommended looking into empty internet as it is very important going forward regarding artistic expression as you brought up.
That's exactly what America would do in a Resonance Cascade sceneario, clearing everything. Half-Life is realistic. I heard that NASA accepted the existance of space-ships. It is so likely that there are aliens in area 51. I am sure you know Half-Life is taking place in area 51. It is good to take its story seriously and try to expect what would happen in an alien invasion situation. Thanks for bringing this up.
