Until mods like Dark Interval, Raising the Bar or any HL2 mods trying to recreate the HL2 beta experience are released, I recommend you try Beta Aesthetics 3.0. The purpose of this mod is to recreate the style and atmosphere of the beta version of Half Life 2. "Beta Aesthetics" does not change the maps or the gameplay itself in a serious way. Only textures, models, sounds, soundtrack and shaders have been changed to match the 1999-2001 era. I really liked playing this mod and if you like things about HL2 beta, I'm sure you'll like this mod too. I have played this recently, it's great! However, It's still HL 2 at it's core. I really can't wait for DI and RTBR!
