Portal 1 is undoubtedly a classic. But I think Portal 2 is the more complete package. It does go for a slightly different writing style but I'm personally pretty ok with that. Valve makes a lot of serious games with serious stories so if Portal becomes their more comedic outlet then I'm all for it.

I tend to agree with this. Portal 2 doubled down on the silly, which would be fine if Portal 1 hadn't already set up an eerie atmosphere.
I'm pretty split. Love Portal 1, but I do think Portal 2 is a better game overall.
