People always shit talk On a Rail and Xen. But no one ever talks about the actual worst chapter in HL1, Residue Processing. Easy to get ass backwards lost in and practically no reward for doing so.

I don't mind On a Rail. Please don't kill me.
I personally enjoyed On a Rail. I was just stating that everyone else shits on it.
People don't shittalk residue processing because it is way too forgettable.
true dat
Near the end at the converior belt section are 2 trip mines, first one is easy, you can just simply shot it, second one is a pain, even more if you have low HP. Especially not good for a casual user playing Half-Life.
And getting away from the second one is an even bigger pain since the conveyer belt moves towards it. So once you see it, you either accept your fate or fight to go back.
If you're good enough you can do a timed jump. But it's really tricky.
I thought it was just me. I'm glad to know it's easy to get tripped up in there.
I honestly never had a problem with any of the HL chapters, neither On a Rail, nor Xen, nor Residue Processing. But I have an excellent sense of orientation, I like trains, and I like cold empty nihilism and cosmic horror (that's the plus of the original Xen)
And somehow I thought it was just me
i hated it so much in hl1 and in Black Mesa to the point where i have everything memorized in Black Mesa
Just been replaying Half-Life and Residue Processing is so bad I constantly forget it's there, thankfully it's fairly easy to quickly get through but it's never fun to play. On a Rail is actually pretty good with the break in pace after two action heavy chapters, starts off pretty slow but the action picks up towards the end leading to some pretty memorable moments, you also get to launch a rocket which is badass.
