In all actuality, I really wish Hollywood would not touch Half Life. Their current track record of how they go about movies now, especially movies based on video games, is just terrible.
The community is really driven by its LORE and I doubt they’ll go to the levels like Peter Jackson to respect the Source material.
I could only see a Half Life movie working, as some sort of experimental film. Like the whole movie is some scientist's cam footage. I think a Portal movie is a much easier sell.
Some believe it that Half Life can work like a Cloverfield POV horror film. But I personally would like a traditional film of the 1990s with such blockbusters like Independence Day or the Rock (1996). People having to fight back against a threat and having to work together to find solutions to defeat an enemy with overwhelming superiority.
Firewatch is a beautiful game and I'm excited yet worried about the movie. Sometimes conversion from a video game to a movie experience removes some of the wonder when playing it.
COD movie? How would it even work? Which timeline would it follow?
MGS movie is another one I'm hyped AF for. The series is absolutely amazing yet the plot is confusing just as much. Really hope they don't ruin it.
I thought the Half-Life movie was a dead project
