Sometime after the death of Half-Life: Absolute Zero, I was toying around with my unfinished rework maps for Office Warrens. For the final map of the chapter, I had realized that it was merely an upgraded version of the Alpha map and constructed a version that was as accurate as I could possibly imagine. Footage originally recorded on August 12th, 2021. What I didn't expect was for it to be nearly 1:1 to the original map. On May 30th, 2022, footage of the map resurfaced that was shown off on the show floor of E3 1998. Here are the documented differences between mine and the original: - Glass on the door can be shot out. - The room with the Scientist that bursts out has a zombie present in the original map. - Scientist burst room appears empty in the original map? - I added an unusable elevator door in the upper area with the glass as a homage to the original alpha map. There was originally nothing there. This would of likely been added by us regardless. - The upper glass area is still unknown. - E3 version of the map lacks a door in the Barney sequence (but it is in older versions of the map, likely removed to make the sequence play better.) - Ceiling tiles are very poorly aligned in the original. - There's a brush in the hallway on the ceiling leading to the elevator. - In a newer version of our map, I restored one of the Zombie wall bursts from the alpha next to the hallway next to the elevator. This, too, would of likely been added by us regardless. Prior to this footage, we only had photographs of this map.
