The CS: Legacy team shares their difficult communication with Valve after an employee replying "the use of the Counter-Strike IP might no longer be allowed without a separate/dedicated license", and no further replies since, which could impact their ability to release the mod. Even CS Legacy being developed under the licensed SDK2013 and them explaining to Valve their mod's goal, they received no replies after several followed-ups. The team has reached to a point of uncertainty, choosing to use a different game engine and away from CS IP. They go into more details about this whole history in their blog: x.com/cslegacygame/status/194047…
not very surprising at all after classic offensive
I find it... weird... the fact that the only IP they have a problem with modding is cs
it's so crazy and absurd like, the least moddable game and they still don't want anything under that IP. just recently people over Deadlock moodding community already made a playable build of an early prototype of Deadlock (Prime Lock) and they are fine lol
exactly! like some months ago they released the tf2 sdk but still dont like cs modding
